A Message From The Pastor – 12.22.09
Dear Linwood family and friends,
I’m already excited about 2010.
Don’t get me wrong. I can’t wait for Christmas. I love Christmas Day including the family time, great meals and, of course, the presents. I am really looking forward to our Christmas Eve service this year. We are going to have a great time together in God’s Presence celebrating His birth and enjoying a candlelight worship service. I am pumped about the College Bowl games and watching Mizzou beat Navy. I am also pretty jazzed about closing on our new home and starting to work on the cleanup, painting and remodeling. And, by the way. 2009 has been a pretty fantastic year in many ways!!
But still, I am focused on and excited about 2010! This is going to be a significant year and God has special things for us!
It is going to be a great year for our campus.
It is going to be a year of significance for you personally.
God wants it to be a great year for your family, too!
This isn’t just pastor speak. God wants to do some significant things through us this year and I am excited!!!!
What do we have to do to receive and enjoy all that God has for us this upcoming year?
- Pray – We can’t move forward without prayer. I want to encourage you to pray this year! Pray for your family, for our church and for God to move powerfully in our lives. The Bible says that “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Expect God to use your prayers to make things happen this year!
- Stay – Stay committed to what God has for you. Faithfulness is a huge factor in your favor. Stay committed to God’s Word, to church and godly relationships and to God’s plan for your life.
- Obey – In order to step into the new things that God has for you, God will call you to take some leaps of faith. Trust what He has for you and don’t be afraid to follow God and do the tough things.
I have already been praying for you and all that God has for you in 2010. I pray that this upcoming year will be the best and most significant year of your life! 2010 is going to be a great year and I am excited that we will be doing it together!
You are loved and appreciated!
Pastor Greg
Christmas Eve Service
Our Christmas Eve service is always a special time. We are going to have great music, candle lighting, Christmas carols, an encouraging message from God’s Word and the Presence of God! I hope you can make time to spend Christmas eve with us as we worship God together!
Thursday night at 6pm.
This Sunday at Linwood:
Do you want to get closer to God but just don’t know how? This Sunday we are going to talk about how you can enjoy a tight relationship with God through an ancient pattern that He gave us thousands of years ago. It still works today! Phil and the band will be leading us in worship and there will be programs for the kids as well.
Bible Reading Plan
Next year we are going to take an amazing spiritual journey together. We at the Linwood Campus are going to sinc up with friends from other campuses and read through the Bible together. We will be handing out the reading plans this Sunday and I would like to ask you to join us. As we read God’s Word together, I know that God is going to speak to us about our personal lives and our church.
