Central Campus

Ten Miracles of Jesus: A study on the signs and wonders of God as we take a look at the Ten Miracles of Jesus and what lessons we can learn from these for our lives. Taught by Pastor Dennis Wallace in B104 (Fireside Room).

The Parables of Jesus:” An in depth discussion of and personal application of the biblical principles demonstrated in each of the parables.  The goal–discover new insights that each of us can apply to our daily lives. Led by Pastor Bob Gleason in Room B111

Financial Peace University” is a Bible-based accountability class that will train an individual or couple to manage their resources.  The class is taught by Dave Ramsey (via DVD), followed by a small-group discussion. Led by Russell Hall in the Chapel. Asbury is offering this class at a reduced price of $50/person or $75/couple.

Boundaries: Facilitated by Counseling Intern Naomi Duncan in B106 (Parlor). A class on how to set healthy boundaries in your life.

Marriage Mentoring: Facilitated by Counseling Center Director Erin Duncan in the Library. The Asbury Counseling Center is launching a Marriage Mentoring program with the purpose of lovingly investing in the preparation, maximization, and restoration of lifelong marriages by walking alongside couples who are less experienced than their mentors.

Love and Respect: Led by Dr. and Mrs. Lance Parker in D107. A marriage class designed to learn how to handle conflict quickly, easily and biblically.

Beth Moore: Co-led by LeAnn Folden and Ladonna Wallace in D106. An in-depth and very personal examination of this great story of threat and deliverance. Beth Moore peels back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to our lives.

Prayer Study: Led by Don Craig in C106. This is an eight-week study on prayer and how, as praying believers, we become partners with God to release His power into the lives of others.  Book purchase is optional.

West Campus Ministry Center

Strong Father Strong Daughters: A mens’ only journey through the challenges your daughter faces in today’s world. This discussion-format class focuses on the necessity of being a strong father for our daughters’ upbringing in that world.  This class will challenge you both spiritually and as a man. Led by Ken Cook.

Beth Moore Study of Esther: Led by West Campus Counselor Raquel Moeder. An in-depth and very personal examination of this great story of threat and deliverance. Beth Moore peels back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to our lives

Linwood Campus

Nu Heart, Nu Start: Taught by Pastor Tina Gilmore in the Linwood Sanctuary, this class is an opportunity for people who desire a fresh start in life and in the Lord! Whether you are facing a major life change or just need help to fine-tune some areas, you are welcome to enjoy a new heart and a new start this fall!

Core Class/Spiritual Gifts Study: Led by Ron Payant and Pastor Greg Hall in the Library. This class will start with a study of the Core values, beliefs and practices that we hold as believers at Asbury Church. This seven-week class will be led by Ron Payant. The class will then be led by Pastor Greg as he teaches about the Spiritual Gifts as outlined in the Scriptures and give each participant an opportunity to discover how the Lord has gifted YOU for serving in the Kingdom today!

Single Parenting: This class will be held in the Fellowship Hall Classroom. It is a class for single parents to help you in your efforts to raise well-balanced children in an off-balance world.

Other Classes Available January—May 2010

Starting Point New Member Classes: These classes are offered once a quarter at all campuses. Everyone who wants to become a member of Asbury Church is requested to attend a Starting Point class before joining.  Starting Point Classes meet for a shared lunch on a Sunday after worship services conclude, followed by interactive teaching by the Campus Pastor.  Those who attend Starting Point will learn about following Jesus, Life as a member of Asbury Church, the various ministry areas of Asbury as well as a snapshot of our Methodist heritage.

After you attend Starting Point, you will have the opportunity to make a decision as to whether you would like to become a permanent member of Asbury Church. Joining Sundays generally take place one- to-two weeks after each Starting Point Class. Dates: Sunday January 17, April 11

Crown Financial Ministries “Managing Our Finances God’s Way:” A seven-week class offered at all campuses to give people an opportunity to discover how God REALLY feels about your finances and what the Scriptures have to say about managing our resources!

Central/Breakthru Campus: starts Sunday January 24, 10:45am

Linwood Campus: starts Sunday April 11, 9:15am

West Campus: starts Sunday February 14, 9:15am

Core Class: This seven-week interactive class is open to everyone who wants to get at the CORE of what it means to be a faithful follower of Jesus and living it out at Asbury Church.  This is an opportunity to learn about Asbury’s Core Values, our Belief Statement, and the Core Practices of being a Christian in today’s world.
