Next Mens Ministries Meeting

There will be no meeting in December in place of the meeting we have 40 seats reserved at the Crown Uptown to see Miracle on 34th Seet. The cost for this will be $75.00 per couple and will include dinner. Reservations and money will be required no later than December 1st and seating will be on a first come first basis. The 10th Annual Methodist Men's Ministry Conference will be held in July at Memphis Tennessee and we will be scheduling a bus for this event.

ASBURY MEN’S MINISTRY PROJECT

The Barrett Family Deck and Ramp

September 27, 2008

On September 26th Asbury’s Men’s Ministry arrived at the home of Milton and Sharon Barrett and tore down the existing ramp. The necessary

construction materials which were provided by the generous donations of the Asbury Congregation were delivered to the Barrett home and at 7am on the September 27th the Asbury Men’s Ministry crew started arriving.

The following individuals helped with the demolition and construction during this project: Chris Fleming, Chad Wharton, Sid Mead, Pastor Sam Thomas, Pastor Fulton, Danny Rothert, Terry Shields, Barry Von Fange, Frank Rhodes, Gary Bond, Claude Rice, Fred Beat, Mark Riedl, Mike Hadley, Dan Riedl,Victoria Sanchez, Jacob Rose, Michael Bond, Christopher Bond, James Albrecht, John Albrecht and Daril Rice took videos.

It took eleven hours to complete a beautiful deck which allows Milton to go out and enjoy the outdoors along with a ramp that has very easy access for Milton.

The volunteer work crew also leveled out the back yard where three weeks ago Sharon’s father paid to have the sewer line replaced; however, the

individuals who put down the line left a hump about 2 feet tall. This project really touched the Barrett family. Milton and Sharon were in tears which touched those around them. Saturday after the volunteers left the neighbors came by and expressed their disbelief and appreciation for what had been accomplished!

This was an awesome project and Asbury Church was able to help transform lives through the love and power of Jesus Christ.
